Cookweeks operates Cookweeks at cookweeks.com. There are no accounts and no payments on this site, and we do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
Visit counts
We count visits with two cookie-free tools: a self-hosted Umami instance, and our own visit counter on our server in the Netherlands. For each page view they receive the page path, the referring site or campaign tag, browser and device type, screen size, language and country-level location. Your browser keeps a random visit number in session storage, which is deleted when you close the tab. Neither tool follows you across other sites, and neither receives the part of an address after a # sign. Umami respects your browser’s Do Not Track setting.
Course enquiries and email
If you use an enquiry form, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, the dates, length, budget and message you enter, and the page you sent it from. It is stored on our server in the Netherlands and shown to us in our admin tools, and we use it only to reply and, if you ask us to, to pass your request to the schools you name. We do not add you to a mailing list. If you email contact@cookweeks.com, your message is received through Cloudflare Email Routing and stored in our inbox.
Enquiries and emails are not deleted automatically yet. We keep them only to handle your request and delete them whenever you ask; we plan to delete them 24 months after our last reply and will update this page when that runs automatically.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare (hosting, content delivery, email routing).
- Our own gateway server, hosted by Hostinger in the Netherlands (enquiries and visit counts).
- Umami, self-hosted by us (visit counts).
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union under their standard safeguards.
Links to schools
Links to school and booking websites take you to sites we do not control. If we later earn a commission from a booking site, that site may set its own cookies when you arrive there; its privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by writing to contact@cookweeks.com. We answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
The site is meant for adults planning travel and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We update this page when our practices change and show the date above.
